This ministry provides an opportunity for to get involved within our community according to your own schedule. There are no meetings; you are involved directly in service to the parish community.
- Can you provide a meal for a parishioner who is recovering from surgery or illness, etc.?
- Can you provide a ride to the doctor (not for anything contagious), physical therapy, etc.?
- Can you provide a ride to Sunday Mass on a rotating basis for someone who would otherwise not be with us on Sunday?
- Can you help with simple errands for parishioner?
This ministry could use your help!
The meals are rides ministry at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton is two groups of volunteers: One group of volunteers will provide a meal to families who are facing a temporary situation such as recovering from surgery or an illness or perhaps for a mom who has been put to bed with a pregnancy. The second group provides rides to parishioners who are unable to drive and are in need of rides to doctor’s appointments, short errands or rides to Mass.
Those simple acts of kindness knit us together as a community and form bonds that are life-changing. When the need arises, we send out an email with a specific request and if you are able to provide a meal (home cooked or purchased) we will put you on the schedule. This is a perfect ministry for those who cannot make a long term commitment to a ministry, but would like to help out on an as-needed basis. The only requirement is for you to be willing to be safe-environment cleared and a desire to help a family in need.
