PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE:DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Ministry Assistant reports directly to the Coordinator of Children’s Ministry and is ultimately accountable to the Pastor. Works directly with all Faith Formation staff. Must maintain a working relationship with all staff members and be accountable to the community as a whole.
SCHEDULE: 35 hours per week during regular office hours, with some evening and weekend hours as required
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENT:
Must be in full communion with the Catholic Church. The position involves knowledge of the Catholic Faith, particularly in religious education and sacramental preparation. The incumbent must recognize when it is necessary and seek advice/counsel from the Coordinator and the Director.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, and the ability to work with limited supervision are required.
Position also requires excellent computer skills with MS 365 products, the ability to learn/master Church Management Software, and proficiency with general office equipment.
Minimum formal education is a high school diploma, college credits, or a degree; experience in Faith Formation ministry is preferred.
Three plus years of experience in an administrative office position is required.
Successful candidates must meet the requirements of Seton’s Safe Environment Program.

The Ministry Assistant must be in full communion with the Catholic Church and will support the mission of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton by treating each person they encounter, whether by telephone, email, written correspondence, or in person, in a manner consistent with the Gospel message.
Essential is the ability to enter into relationships with the staff, volunteers, and parishioners with the dignity of one created in God’s image. A working knowledge and respect for the Catholic faith are critical.
