Rod Armstrong
August 18, 2017
Rod was born in Covington, Virginia the same county as his parents and one county over from where his great, great, great grandfather lived. Growing up he spent summers on his grandparents’ farm on a river in the Alleghany Mountains of Virginia leaving an imprint on his soul. He graduated from Covington High School in 1961, going on to the University of Virginia where he earned a Masters in Chemistry. After graduating university, Rod returned to his hometown of Covington where he taught math and served as the head wrestling coach, as well as an assistant football coach for 8 years. He then earned an MBA from William & Mary after which he worked at a bank in Richmond before moving to Texas in the late 70s to work for EDS. Once in Texas he met the love of his life, Kathy, and her daughter Selena.
Rod & Kathy were married in October of 1980. Among his roles at EDS, Rod spent time as a lobbyist in DC before working in a division selling-off subsidiary’s, which led Rod to his final career as CEO of his own company after deciding to buy one of the divisions he was tasked to sell. In 1989, he incorporated the new business as Perrless Systems Inc. naming it after his grandfather’s creamery in Virginia where Rod had his first job loading crates of milk and cases of Coke from the next-door Coca Cola bottling plant onto their respective delivery trucks. Over the next ten years Rod expanded the company taking it public in 1996 and eventually selling it to Jack Henry & Associates in 1998 upon which he was able to take an early retirement.
Upon retirement, Rod poured himself even more fully into his life’s passion, which was growing, showing, and judging Daffodils; the middle of a three-generation family to do so. Rod maintained an extensive Daffodil garden in his beautifully landscaped creek-bordered yard in Plano, Texas as well as an even more exhaustive daffodil garden at his family farm in the mountains of Virginia. His garden in Plano was known throughout the neighborhood. He was, perhaps, never more at peace or at home than he was amidst his daffodil field in Virginia. As an over 30 year member of the American Daffodil Society he was a fixture on its board, often alongside lifelong friends of his parents, serving in many capacities including two-terms as treasurer, one term as president, judging school instructor, and in many more ways. For his years of service to the society he was awarded the ADS Silver medal for lifetime achievement in 2015. Rod absolutely cherished his daffodil friends, whom he often called family.
Rod was also a 27+-year member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, Texas, where he served as an usher and on the parish finance committee. In 2003, he converted to Catholicism after devotedly attending weekly mass alongside his family for 20+ years.
Rod is survived by his wife Kathy, children Selina Kelley Brooks and her husband Mike, Andrew Perry Armstrong and his wife Celeste DesOrmeaux, grandchildren Kelley Marie Guerrero and her husband Andrew and Brendan Michael Brooks, great-granddaughter Scarlett Marie Guerrero and one more on the way. Rod is preceded in death by his sister Beverly McLaughlin, Sally Bingley and her husband Chuck and his parents.

He loved playing sports in his younger days with his buddies from the Glenners sports club. But he loved nothing more than his “girls.” From taking care of his wife, to raising his daughter and helping raise his granddaughters, he coached softball, had family dinner every Sunday, and was there every day after school to help with homework. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Casimir is survived by his daughter Kathleen Arena and his granddaughters Lindsey Coffey and Kristin Welsh. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years Madeline Marcio, his parents Wladislaw (William) and Mary (Kuster) Marcio, his four brothers John, Joseph, Anthony and Stanley, and his sister Stella Jablonka.

David Anthony Benesh
April 28, 1948 - June 23, 2017
David Anthony Benesh Our beloved father, Paw-Paw, brother, teammate and friend passed away June 23rd 2017 from natural causes at the age of 69. Dave was the son of William Foy Benesh and Frances Elizabeth Nolan Benesh and the third of their three children. Both his brother, Joe, and sister, Kathy, meant a tremendous amount to him.
Growing up, Dave loved to play sports and excelled in baseball as a pitcher. He played baseball and graduated from both St. Thomas High School in Houston in 1966 and Texas A&M University in 1970. His teammates called him Big Dave and Rabbit. He was known as a fierce competitor who was always a positive force in the dugout but wouldn't hesitate to spit in the eye of every opponent he faced. Not only did he dominate on the field, he was just as determined in the classroom as shown by his Masters of Statistics earned in 1972 from Texas A&M. He used his education and un-paralleled work ethic in the business world with Texas Instruments, Mostek, and several companies he helped start with his business partners and friends.
Dave was also a loving father and grandfather. He was married 18 years to Frances Boudreaux Benesh who gave birth to his only son, Andrew, in 1976. Andrew's two sons, Will and Blake, refer to their grandfather as Paw-Paw. Dave loved his son and grandsons so, so much. He would never hesitate to tell them how much he cared about them and how much he believed in them. This meant more to them than Dave ever knew.
All who knew Dave will miss his positive disposition and selfless nature.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents and his brother.

Sarah Ann O'Dwyer
February 16, 1954 - April 13, 2017
Sarah Ann O’Dwyer was born February 16, 1954 in Lapeer, Michigan, to parents William and Joyce Dwyer. She was the fifth of nine kids in a large Irish Catholic family. In her early 20s, she moved to Fresno, California, and attended Fresno State University. After college, she met the love of her life, Mike. They had two children, Kallie and Will, and moved from Fresno to Seattle, finally settling in Plano, Texas.
Sarah was devoted to her family above everything else. Instead of spending time and money on relaxing beach vacations, she made multiple trips a year to Michigan to visit family. She would rather sit around a table, drinking beer and playing Euchre with her brothers, than almost anything else. This devotion to family was never more evident than the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Nothing brought her as much joy as spending holidays in the kitchen, with a glass of wine in her hand, surrounded by those loved ones. When she became a grandmother, it came as no surprise that her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She relished the weekly FaceTime calls with them and even braved many cold New York winters just to play with them on her birthday.
Singing was her passion. A member of the choir at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for 20 years, she could frequently be heard throughout the house singing hymns following church on Sundays. She loved Irish music and culture, and she enjoyed many days and nights singing her favorite Irish songs at family reunions. Nothing made her prouder than when her son, Will, would play her favorite Irish tunes on his violin.
Sarah was most known for her sarcastic wit and bright smile. She connected with people wherever she went, with her teasing sense of humor. She was loyal, carrying with her many friends, from all parts of her life. She was beautiful, aging as gracefully as any woman could. And she lost her two and a half year battle with cancer peacefully, at home, surrounded by family and friends.
Sarah is survived by her husband Michael Glanville, daughter and son-in-law Katherine and Ernest Goodwin, son William Glanville, grandchildren Tara, Caitlin and Declan Goodwin, brothers Michael Dwyer, Timothy O’Dwyer, Patrick Dwyer, Thomas O’Dwyer, Neil O’Dwyer, Daniel O’Dwyer and John Dwyer. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Joyce Dwyer, sister Nora Drozan, father and mother-in-law Theodore and Wanda Glanville.
A Vigil Service will be held at Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75023. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated the Friday, April 21, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. A reception will follow the mass in the Parish Hall. Sarah will be laid to rest on Monday, April 24 at 1:00 P.M. at East Lawn Cemetery, Lake Orion, Michigan.

Robert McCray
August 20, 1940 ~ April 5, 2017
Robert D. McCrary was born in Tyler, Texas to Carroll Harvey McCrary and Mary Delay McCrary on August 20, 1940. He passed away on April 5, 2017 in Plano, Texas of complications of cancer. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vicky McCrary, his daughter Larra Michelle McCrary and her partner Angie Makinen, and his son Joseph Mark McCrary and wife, Shoshana, and their three sons: Eli, Gabriel and Micah.
Bob graduated from Tyler John Tyler High School and the University of North Texas. He served in the United States Army as a radio and communications specialist. He served two years and returned to Texas to complete his education. After graduating from the University of North Texas in 1970 with a degree in business, Bob worked in business and then decided to change his direction and become a machinist. He always liked working with his hands so this was right up his alley. After he could no longer work with his hands he returned to the business sector.
Bob was fascinated by the possibilities of space travel and read Science Fiction voraciously. He was also interested in the history of World War II, and the battles he remembered hearing about on the radio as a child. He loved flying and was interested in the types of warplanes developed during the war. As his children came along, Bob became the ideal fan of all of their soccer games, baseball games and basketball games. He rarely missed a game, cheering for their victories and consoling them on the losses. In his later years, Bob most enjoyed mowing his lawn and keeping it looking neat, watching the six o’clock news (a habit engrained in him by his parents) and watching television.
In 2008 he assumed a new role: his daughter Larra was seriously injured in an automobile accident and was bed bound for seven months. Bob assumed part time care of Larra, in a tender and loving fashion. A very close bond was formed during this time between Father and Daughter. Playing with grandchildren became a favorite activity for Bob. He was the kind of “Grampa” who would roll on the floor with them, make funny faces and funny noises and just in general have a good time with them. They will miss him very much.
Bob left behind a family who loved him as much as they were in turn loved by him. Bob always believed in being an honest, “good” man and he was. He learned to be a “Southern Gentleman” from his parents and never strayed from that ideal.
A memorial mass will be held, Thursday April 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Pkwy. Plano, Texas 75023. Reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
John William Schultz

John William Schultz passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in McKinney, Texas on March 21, 2017. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma March 6,1927 and lived there most of his life. He raised seven children, three of whom have preceded him in death. The surviving family consists of three daughters, one son, eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and his devoted dachshund, Daisy May.
Following high school graduation, John enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He was assigned to the US Navy and served on the USS General Gordon Troop Transport on missions to Marseille, France, the Panama Canal, Manila and Yokohama, Japan. Following his honorable discharge in Seattle, Washington in 1946, he returned to Oklahoma City to pursue his degree in chemical engineering at the University of Oklahoma. As a Navy reservist, he was recalled to active duty in 1950 and served two years at Pearl Harbor. Later, John became a United States Air Force civil employee at Tinker Air Force Base. During his tenure, he was honored with The Meritorious Civilian Service Award for his role as Chief Procurement Officer on the B52 Major Structural Modification Program. He retired in 1990 and soon after relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas.
John was a devout Catholic all his life. His concern for others, especially ”the poorest of the poor”, is evidenced by his support of dozens of Catholic charities. The most important of these, The Ark Assessment Center and Emergency Shelter for Youth in Corpus Christi, became a labor of love for him. He was a major benefactor, but gave equal parts time, energy and talent to expand and improve the facility. He often spoke of the dedication of those who run The Ark and their commitment to the children in their care.
He enjoyed history, conservative politics, the stock market, spicy food, tennis on TV, jazz and the Dallas Cowboys. He shared his religious convictions freely, and through his example he made better people of us all. Now John is at peace with Our Lord in Heaven and will be remembered lovingly by those he left behind.
