Mari Catherine "Kaye" Taylor Lorenc
February 18, 1942 - September 14, 2019
Mari Catherine (Kaye) Taylor Lorenc was born February 18, 1942 in Joliet, Illinois to parents Clarence and Carolyn (Shimshok) Taylor.
Mari grew up and attended school in Lockport, Illinois. She enjoyed many childhood “adventures” with her best friends Patty and Kathee. Together they rode bikes all over town, went roller skating indoors and out, hung out at Chaney Pool and saw movies. Winters were spent sledding and ice skating at Dellwood Park. While attending Lockport Township High School, the girl’s, along with new friends Audrey, Sandy and Carolyn attended school dances, football and basketball games, and hosted sleepovers where they would share giggles, dreams and crushes. Rumor has it Mari was crazy for Elvis, but she was soon to meet a cute boy who looked like James Dean, her future husband Bob.
Mari met Bob when she was 16 and they both worked at the A and P grocery store. She finally agreed to go to a dance with him after he had been asking her out for a year. She attended Joliet Junior College for two years, then agreed to marry Bob. They wed in March of 1962. Mari gave birth to Lisa in 1963 while Bob was serving in the United States Army in Vietnam. The family moved to Yuma, Arizona until Bob was discharged from the Army in 1967. Son Christopher was born there in 1964. The Lorenc’s moved back to Illinois to be close to family. Bob began a career in the grocery business. Mari took care of the household and children and later began her career in real estate.
The Illinois years were filled with fun family gatherings. Summer picnics and reunions with Bob’s large family. Parties and music jam sessions with Mari’s parents, brothers and their families. Mari also loved spending time with her many aunts and uncles, all of whom she loved dearly. When her parents, Grandma and Grandpa Taylor, moved to Southern Illinois the family took many trips to their small country town to fish, ride horses and visit relatives.
Mari earned her real estate license in 1973 after studying and passing the exam while she was recuperating from surgery. She started working for a local agency in Joliet, Illinois and quickly became a successful agent, achieving multi-million dollars sales and winning top listing agent awards annually.
In 1984, the Illinois economy took a downturn and the freezing winters began to wear on her, so she decided to move the family to Texas where things were bound to better. Mari continued to be a top performing realtor. She worked for Wright Realtors, Remax and William Davis Realty before retiring in 2015.
Mari loved people and her curiosity to learn about other cultures led her to cultivate many friendships. She took the time to really get to know people and was genuinely interested in them. Her friends and clients were special to her and she always went the extra mile to help them whether it was finding the perfect home, facilitating a hard deal or selling their home quickly. Mari’s hard work and caring personality often led to repeat clients and referrals.
Thank you notes from clients included comments such as these:
Thank you so much for all you did to sell my home and find me a new home. For the first time in a long time I’m happy.
We have sold several homes in the past and have never enjoyed working with an agent with your expertise. Both of us feel that without you our home would not have sold in 6 days!
Your persistence at holding several open houses at this location certainly demonstrates your determination to provide the seller with incredible service, an effort rarely provided in todays “Put a sign out and forget it mentality.”
Mari gave advice without being “pushy” and in the spirit of mutual cooperation between the seller and the agent - something worth its weight in gold. She facilitated vendor repairs with our best interests at heart.
Mari sought to establish a relationship with our family members and in turn was sensitive to our individual needs, ensuring our transaction was a stress free as possible.
There’s not many people out there like you. I feel we have already learned a valuable lesson about the world thru you.
Throughout the many, many, homes you showed us, you were always so radiant. I don’t believe many people would have put up with us, but God knew who we needed. It’s nice to know that when God brought you down our path to be our realtor he also brought us a friend.
Mari represented herself as the best real estate agent I ever met. She is also an individual who is concerned for other human beings. She served on the Board of Directors of Big-Brothers-Big Sisters of Will County and helped me with many fund-raising events.
Mari’s creative writing skills were evident in the catchy ads she wrote to promote her listings and personally in beautiful poems that she wrote. She was an avid reader who devoured many Steven King novels. She had an eye for interior design, personally “staged” her client’s homes and was continuously updating her own homes.
Mari loved animals especially horses and dogs. She would go horseback riding whenever she had the opportunity. Her caring nature led her to take care of strays and nurse them back to health. Even though she was terrified of birds (after watching a certain movie), she once took care of a bird that had a broken wing. She loved her dogs, Soapy, Brandy, “dog” (yes, a dog named dog), Baby, Sammy, and Gi Gi.
Mari loved to travel and explore new places. Her favorite family vacations were to Jamaica and Mexico. Adventures included horseback riding on the beach, climbing waterfalls and swimming with dolphins.
Above all, Mari loved to spend time with family. Grandparents, brothers, sisters, in-laws, cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cookouts, picnics, swim parties, jam sessions, dance parties and vacations. Laughing, singing, dancing and sharing funny stories. These were the best of times.
Mari was diagnosed with lung cancer 2014 and pancreatic cancer in 2018. The family is proud of how hard and long she fought this disease, especially during Bob’s illness and passing last year. She was optimistic most of the time and worked hard to keep up the house (which has a large yard and pool). She continued to organize family celebrations for birthdays and holidays, take care of Bob as his Parkinson's progressed and also take care of their beloved dog Gi Gi.
Her beautiful smile, kind heart and sense of humor will be missed. The suffering has ended. May she rest in peace.
Mari is survived by her children, daughter, Lisa Horn and her husband Gary and son, R. Christopher Lorenc and his wife Nelly; granddaughters, Emma and Caroline Lorenc and Taylor Horn; step granddaughter, Shauna; great grandchildren, Chandler, Sunny, Ambiance and Lunaray and sister-in-law, Marilyn Koch. She is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Dale Wroblewski and sister-in-law, Jill Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Carolyn Taylor; brothers, John and Michael Taylor; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Alvina Lorenc, and sister-in-law, Delores Wroblewski.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, September 27, 2019, from 6-8:00 P.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 1:00pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023 with The Reverend Bruce Bradley officiating. A reception will immediately follow the Mass in the Parish Hall.

Peggy met Jake in Chicago in 1982 and they married January 14, 1984 and have been married for 35 years. She worked for many years as an Executive Assistant for a medical equipment manufacturing company and for the last 26 years, she was a homemaker.

Peter Joseph Kerutis Jr.
January 29, 1935 – August 4, 2019
Peter Joseph Kerutis, Jr. made his journey to his Holy Father, beloved wife, Marie, and parents, Peter, Sr. and Olga Kerutis on August 4, 2019. We are certain he has been greeted with open arms by those he loved most and many lost along the way who he missed every day, members of his Falgoust family and treasured friends.
Left to miss him with all of our hearts and souls are his devoted children, Patricia Joan (Steve Crane), Peter Joseph III, Patrick James (Nancy), Paul Jacque and Prescott Jason (Heather); his grandchildren Paul II, Peter, Prescott, Jr., Lexie, Quinn, Janice (John Burns) and Morgan (Erik Polcer); his great grandchildren, Jessica, Devon, Billy, Logan, Emma and Jaidyn and great-great granddaughter, Annalee.
Pete, who loved to introduce himself as Plano Pete, was born on January 29, 1935 to Olga and Peter Kerutis, Sr. in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Wanamie, Pennsylvania an only child. He left for college at the age of 17 and graduated from Penn State University, a tried and true Nittany Lion white and blue. He joined the United States Coast Guard and was assigned duties in New Orleans, Louisiana. When Marie Falgoust and her friend needed a ride to bowling they called the man with the Cadillac convertible and Pete’s life of love and family began.
Pete and Marie married on June 18, 1960 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Marie often said, Pete fell in love with her mother, Marie Falgoust, before he fell in love with her. Granny, as she did with anyone she ever met, welcomed Pete into her home and her heart. He was introduced to family and love that as an only child he did not know existed. The Falgoust Family became his family – brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and a mother-in-law he adored. He always made it a duty in his life to take care of his parents and every member of his new family who might need his support. His love was deep; his faith unwavered. He loved and was loved by so many.
He asked his wife to leave her family in New Orleans in 1966 when he was The Candy Man working for M&M/Mars candy company. His job took him to his home state of Pennsylvania, but many would say it was harder for him to leave New Orleans than it was Marie. Never to be regretted, wonderful friends were made and every summer was spent back home in New Orleans.
Promotion led to Lowell, Massachusetts where more friends were made and adored. And, in 1974 it was on to Plano, Texas where he resided for almost 45 years and will be his final resting place with his beloved wife of 58 years, Marie.
He was the owner of Plano Printing, Inc. where a customer became a friend. He was a member and Past President of Rotary Club where selling funnel cakes was not his favorite, but conducting Casino Nights was a joy. He loved golf and had his Monday and Thursday tee times. He loved a round with his kids and regretted not being able to play a round with his grandchildren – but Top Golf helped to share a few shots with Paul II and Peter.
Peter Kerutis, Jr. could be a tough man, scared some, but he was really nothing but a gentle bear, always ready with a hug and a kiss. He was loud and boisterous – you knew when he entered a room. He was, most importantly, a man of God. From his youth and walking with his grandmother to church every Sunday, until his end, he had a place in the pew, and was there every week usually surrounded by his children and grandsons. If he wasn’t there, he was missed.
The family wants to thank all who have touched our lives. We hope most of those who knew Pete knew that you were always welcomed in his home and in his heart. He truly loved all people and believed in the more the merrier. Please know that because of the Faith and Love of our parents, we are aware and so thankful for the abundant blessings we have been given. Our family is very proud of the job we did in taking care of both of our parents, but we depended upon the love and support of our friends and we thank all for being there for each of us in your own special way.
Do not be sad. Know that Pete and Marie are jitterbugging in heaven. They spent a year apart and are now back together – that calls for joyous celebration. We love them and we love each of you. With sincere gratitude, thank you for being a part of the Kerutis family today and always.
Rest in peace, daddy.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 116 at 10:30am. Internment with military honors in the Seton Columbarium. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.

Christopher Thomas Dwyer
August 29, 1994 - July 30, 2019
Christopher Thomas Dwyer came into this world early in the morning on August 29, 1994. He was 21 days early. Right then and there, we should have figured out that he was one to do things on HIS schedule. He was born in Richardson, Texas to parents Richard and Marcia (MacLennan) Dwyer.
Chris took his time hitting his milestones, but when he did - he took off! Literally! Many a cabinet door in the kitchen suffered from him racing back and forth in his rolling walker, chasing his brother or terrorizing his dog, Harper…all the while laughing a hardy belly laugh. The one thing that we never heard from Chris was his sweet voice calling us Mom or Dad or Tony. He tried – you could tell from his vocalizations when he was happy (usually combined with a big smile and hands raised high) or mad. He communicated as best he could – signing typical or invented signs, taking you to his current desire, or pushing you away when he’d had enough. He even tore pictures out of books and magazines when he found one that matched his needs. He was a very smart young man!
Chris loved school, with his bus rides each day being the highlight. He had HIS spot…last seat in the back on the passenger side. He rode around with his fingers in his ears, watching the world go by. At school, Chris wanted to learn new things, and he wanted to be helpful. He truly blossomed when he got to Fifth grade and loved it so much. His biggest accomplishment, made possible by his wonderful teacher, was to attend a day of the 5th grade Outdoor Camp Week where he went on a hike with the students. They were so great – helping him to climb onto platforms and making sure he was included every step of the way. He absolutely loved that day! Over the next years, Chris attended many different schools where he not only learned but taught the many teachers he had. Christopher graduated from the school system in June of 2016. It was a proud day for all of us!
Chris loved to travel, and we had many family adventures…trips up north to the Midwest to see family, journeys to Colorado, Quartz hunting in Arkansas, and camping in Oklahoma were some of his favorites. He loved hotels and seeing new places. When at home, Chris loved to take long drives. We discovered many little towns and country roads each weekend. When he saw something he wanted to investigate, he would vocalize his desire and point the direction we were to go. He was very good at knowing where he was, and would many times direct us home.
Chris was our “supervisor”, and he took his job seriously. Whether it was watching over a DIY project, helping in the kitchen to make a salad or cut up food, overseeing the laundry duties, or checking up on Dad mowing the lawn, Chris was always aware of what was going on and could let you know when something was finished or needed to be done. He brought us hot pads when we needed to get stuff out of the oven, or scissors when we needed to open a package. Chris was on top of it.
Chris loved to paint and take things apart. His favorite time of year was the fall, and he loved jumping in the leaves. He liked watching hockey games and Family Feud. Mr. Potato Head and trains were of great interest to him as well. He got extra excited when America’s Funniest Videos or Jimmy Fallon was on. He had a wicked sense of humor and wonderful timing with that laugh of his, and was the most empathetic person I have ever met. So many times, he has been seen taking a book to a friend he thought would like it, patting the shoulder of someone who was upset, covering a sleeping mom with a blanket, or just looking at you with those beautiful green eyes and pouting when he saw someone was sad.
Christopher touched many lives in his short 24 years. Those who truly know him know they learned more from him than he did from us. He was greatly loved, and we will miss him dearly.
Christopher is survived by loving parents Richard and Marcia Dwyer; brother Tony Dwyer; paternal grandmother Lucille Dwyer; maternal grandparents Thomas and Joan MacLennan; aunts and uncles Judy Dwyer, Ann Simon and her husband Bob, Tom MacLennan and his wife Krista, Jim MacLennan and his wife Laura, Mike MacLennan and his wife Katie, Karen Tierney and her husband Sean and many loving cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Robert Dwyer.
There will be a Funeral Mass Monday, August 12, 2019 at 11:00am at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75023 officiated by The Reverend Monsignor Henry V. Petter.
There will be a reception in the Parish Hall following the Mass and then Christopher will be laid to rest at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.

Dawn Murray Drouillard
September 07, 1961 - July 10, 2019
Dawn Murray Drouillard was born September 7, 1961 in Sioux City, Iowa to parents Dale Francis and Betty (Trepto) Murray. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, and most importantly God’s servant. She was the embodiment of Faith, Family and Friends. She always put herself second. She was there for everybody who needed a hand. Right up until the end she was always concerned about her husband and others and how she was being needy and requiring too much of our time. She was always apologizing to the medical staff for being such a bother. She’s in the hands of the Lord and she will be an asset in heaven.
Dawn was the fourth child of five and her siblings are Dan, Debi, David, and Darci. Dawn was always devoted to her parents and helped them in their later years. She always found time to do whatever was necessary to make their life better. Recently, Dawn was there for her bother Dan who recently lost his wife to cancer earlier this year. Dawn loved her family unconditionally.
She was a good student in high school but an even better track star. She held several records and competed in State Finals several times. Before finishing college, she moved to Texas in January of 1984 with her young son Ben and started a new life. Debi, her older sister helped her out and before long, Dawn was in a new apartment, new job and going to school. At that new apartment she met Richard Drouillard.
Richard and Dawn started dating in June of 1985 and were married July 12th, 1986. They started their new life with Ben in a new home in Wylie Texas. Richard and Dawn added to their family when she gave birth to Carly Michelle on April 27th, 1989. They continued to live in Wylie until November 1996 when they moved to Plano. The new home was very close to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, so they joined the Parish. Besides attending weekly services Richard and Dawn were very involved with activities at the church including religious education, Love Truck and Meals on Wheels. Dawn devoted herself to God and the Catholic religion. Dawn lived a Christian life and she demonstrated it daily. Dawn’s family was always a priority to her, whether her husband, children, grandchildren or her mother and father, she was always there for them.
Dawn started working in the corporate world with the Staubach Company in the accounting and IT departments. She found that she had the talent and skill working with computers. While at the Staubach Company she became pregnant with Carly. Roger Staubach treated employees as family, so when Dawn was in the hospital after giving birth to Carly, Roger and his wife Marianne came to visit her in the hospital. She really enjoyed working for the Staubach Company. But she was so successful in the IT field several career opportunities were available to her to choose from. She was offered a job at Fidelity Investments and work there as an IT manager where she successfully earned her Series 7 license. Again, Dawn was presented with other career opportunities where she excelled at all of them. At every one of the companies she earned “Employee of the Year” at least once. She eventually ended up at Securus Technologies where she was an invaluable employee as IT Director until her illness.
When Carly went off to attend Oklahoma State University in the fall of 2007, Dawn wanted to do something that would occupy her time. She always wanted to work in the medical field, so she studied to get her EMT certificate. Once again through her relentless drive and determination she finished 1st in her class and obtained her certificate while working her full time IT job. She just didn’t get one job but two positions as an EMT. Dawn was an ambulance driver for Care Flight and an EMT at Children’s Medical Center emergency room. She loved attending to the injured children that came in the ER. The many hours working 3 jobs was starting to wear her down. Therefore, she quit Care Flight after a couple of years. Dawn truly cared for the injured children, which was confirmed by the many letters from parents to the administration giving Dawn praise on how she treated their child. Dawn was an extraordinary individual, who was dedicated to whatever job she was doing.
Dawn enjoyed reading, pets, sports and travelling. Dawn read a variety of books, but she always read John Grisham novels. Dawn loved her pets. Her favorite are her Pugs but also adored her cats. She loved to watch and attend football, baseball, and golf. Dawn especially enjoyed the summer Olympics and Michael Phelps. She was a super fan of Michael and enjoyed watching him perform. Dawn and Richard enjoyed travelling together to Hawaii, New York City, the Caymans, Las Vegas, the Texas and California Wine Country and various big cities around the country each year. Dawn relished the water and sand in Hawaii and the Broadway Shows in New York City. But most of all Dawn Loved her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be missed immensely by all who knew her.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband Richard Drouillard; children Ben Harman and his wife Shelby, Carly Drouillard and her husband Mike Moorman; grandchildren Nathan Whitehead, Colton and Cale Moorman, Nora and Gabe Harman (twins); parents Dale and Betty Murray; siblings Dan Murray, Debbie Becker and her husband Todd, David Murray and his wife Donita, Darci Magill and her husband Lee; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Greg Drouillard and his wife Suzanne Bryan, and Lisa Arnold an her husband Ed; she is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and many friends. Dawn was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Janice Murray.

James Alexander "Alex" Roderer
January 11, 1990 - May 28, 2019
James Alexander "Alex" Roderer was born on January 11, 1990, in San Pedro, California. He passed away on May 28, 2019, in Plano, Texas. A never-ending curiosity and a passion for learning were Alex’s signature traits. Kindness defined his character.
Alex was a collector of friends and experiences, the more diverse the better. He didn’t just accept people, he embraced them—regardless of culture, religion, upbringing, or circumstances. Alex wanted to see the world—and did. He traveled to the United Kingdom and Czech Republic with his grandmother after graduating from Plano Senior High School in 2008. He spent a summer in China with a tour group. He visited Hawaii, New York, and California. He vacationed with his family and friends in Florida and spent time on Cape Cod. He no doubt visited other places that weren’t on the official itinerary. He was an explorer at heart.
Alex was a practiced debater, often stubborn, but also open-minded. His family cheered him when he crossed the stage in a cap and gown at the University of Texas at Dallas last year, but his more meaningful education took place outside the classroom, not in it.
Alex loved learning for learning’s sake.
He was restless in the best ways possible. He had a passion for food—eating it and critiquing it and sharing it. He cared deeply for his family—even as he challenged them, even as they challenged him. He and his dogs Molly and Patrick were members of a mutual admiration society. He treasured them and tended to them and revealed himself quietly in the ways he protected them. Alex will be dearly missed, but his gentle spirit, boundless heart, and loving nature will live on in those he touched. #LoveLikeAlex
Alex was preceded in death by his grandfather Douglas Alexander. He is survived by his parents James “Jaime” and Karen Roderer; siblings Eliza and Aaron Roderer; grandparents Penelope Alexander, and James and Sylvia Roderer; aunts and uncles Dennis (Rosalie) Roderer, Elizabeth Reed, Carolyn (Bill) Forbes, and Jennifer Roderer, as well as numerous cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, June 17, at 11 a.m. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 West Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023.

Stephanie Elizabeth Raign
August 30, 1937 - March 21, 2019
Stephanie Elizabeth Raign of Plano, Texas, age 81, was born on August 30, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Plano. Her death was sudden and peaceful with her husband of 60 years, Lt Colonel Phillip ‘Phil” Raign, USAF (Ret), daughter Resa Raign and daughter-in-law Kathy Raign by her side. She had previously survived two bouts of lung cancer and was struggling with Alzheimers; however, she was conscious and knew of her family’s presence to the end. She was preceded in death by her parents David and Elizabeth Medoff and her only brother Donald Medoff of Tucson, Arizona.
Steff or Steffie as she was known by most, attended the all-girls Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, Villanova, Pennsylvania, graduating in 1956 with her class of 30. While at Notre Dame, she was involved in many activities and was an aggressive player on the varsity field hockey team. One such activity involved pursuing research after hours and weekends, with 14 Notre Dame girls at the Moylan School. They were investigating the actions of different chemicals on blood cells while monitoring test eggs. Of the 14 girls, five, including Stephanie, went into nursing. Upon graduation from Notre Dame, she attended the Wilmington General Hospital School of Nursing, Wilmington, Delaware. The required four years of Latin at Notre Dame served her well in the field of medicine.
She met her husband, who was a cadet at the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, while she was attending nursing school. They were a fun loving couple and enjoyed living life to the fullest. Upon Phil’s graduation and commission into the Air Force, they were married on July 16, 1958. She joined him in Bartow, Florida where he was undergoing pilot training. This was the beginning of her journey and life as a devoted Air Force Officer’s wife that required making many temporary and permanent moves from base to base in the U.S. and in England.
She and Phil began their family when she gave birth to their son Michael at Luke AFB, Arizona, in March 1960. When Michael was six months old, he and Steffie joined Phil in England where he was serving a three year tour of duty. During those three years, the family grew from three to six with the addition of two more sons, Gerald and Donald, and a daughter Theresa. With the help of English nannies, Steff endured the hardships of living in a foreign country and, at times, having sole responsibility for raising the children. Upon return to the states and after multiple assignments, she took on a greater role with her husband, an Instructor Pilot Training Officer, while raising her four growing children. In this new role of mentoring the young wives of 2nd Lieutenants undergoing pilot training, she used her experiences to help them adjust to the Air Force way of life, and learn what to expect as they moved from base to base. With her meticulous writing skills, she developed an Officer’s Wives’ Guide on protocol and etiquette.
Steffie was a woman of many talents. Her love of arts and crafts began at an early age, and at the age of 14 she attended the Philadelphia College of Art, taking the trolley and EL downtown from Drexel Hill, PA. Her artistic talents kicked in full force in the 1970s with the creation of many unique pieces of art and crafts in a variety of media. Having four children, sometimes referred to as the “Raigndrops”, she liked to sign her pieces of art with her nickname Steffie and a symbol of a raindrop. She loved to sew and made clothes for the children and herself. She was so skilled and precise that she would do calligraphy for the Officer Wives Club mailings and wedding announcements. While living in Maryland, she taught at the Montessori School and taught art at the children’s elementary school.
In addition to travelling the U.S. and England, Steff travelled extensively throughout Europe in the early 1960s and later years. Her passion for art and the masters was fulfilled with visits to major art museums, highlighted by the Prado in Madrid, Spain. She also travelled to Thailand and China. Thailand was special because she and Phil attended his Class Reunion in Bangkok in 1992 - the same country he flew out of in 1967 during the Vietnam War. At that time, Stephanie stayed in Chandler, AZ with her four children comforted by the close knit support of other wives and community.
Upon moving to Lubbock, Texas in 1975, and with the children now in high school and college, Steffie began full time nursing. She nursed in practically every specialty you can think of, ER, ICU, pediatrics, and dialysis, and was instrumental in helping set up some of the departments in the new Texas Tech Health Sciences Center and Lubbock General Hospital. With her last major move to her current home in Plano, Texas she continued nursing at several locations and areas of care, including HCA Medical Center of Plano, Cigna Home Health Care and Charter Psychiatric Hospital.
Steff was strong-willed and knew what she wanted, and was always caring for and looking out for her children, family and others. She was always upbeat and carefree, and confident. She was full of silliness and always fun to be around, and with her sharp wit loved storytelling. Now it is our time for telling stories about our Stephanie.
Stephanie is survived by her four children; Michael Raign, Jerry Raign (Kathy), Donald Raign and Resa Raign, and her five grandchildren; Erin Raign, Kelsie Raign, Riley Herlihy, Maxwell Raign and Chance Heath.

Sharon Kay Fitzpatrick
January 1, 1937 - February 1, 2019
Sharon Kay Fitzpatrick, age 82, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday February 1, 2019 with family by her side. She was born to Albert Joseph Moore and Catherine (Clarke) Moore on January 1, 1937 in Broken Bow, Nebraska. After her mother’s death at a very young age, Sharon became a caregiver to her younger siblings until she left to pursue her calling at Marymount College in Salina Kansas, where she earned a degree in nursing. It was there in Salina where she met and married the love of her life, Jerry Oliver Fitzpatrick who preceded her in death in 2009.
She lived an exemplary life of compassion and courage. For 30 years she worked as a Registered Nurse in hospitals, emergency rooms, and private practices in Kansas, Arkansas, Texas and California. She was a deeply caring, kind, and genuinely empathetic person which not only made for an outstanding nurse, but a wonderful friend to all who knew her. She loved to love on others, especially those who had any health challenges. She had a servant heart and would readily lend her gifts and talents as a nurse to help with medical treatments or advice to any acquaintance, but as a devout Catholic, it is safe to say that she also lifted you up in prayer during those times. (She knew her limitations)
In 1990 she was diagnosed with a very aggressive life threatening form of Leukemia. She retired from nursing, became the patient, and launched an all out war on cancer. This was a very tough battle that she met with unbelievable courage, grit and determination. Through the grace of God, skilled physicians, Sharon’s mental toughness, and an incredible support network of friends and family, she was officially declared cured in 1997. While she won that battle, it would not be her last. In all, she had a half dozen different cancers in her lifetime, but she never let cancer beat her. In fact, she became somewhat of an expert on the subject and helped inspire other people who were waging their own cancer battles. Even though she had cancer at the end of her life, she actually succumbed to pulmonary disease that stemmed from asthma and other respiratory ailments that date back to her childhood.
Sharon loved to paint, volunteer, go to movies or musicals with her friends, watch tennis, or root on her Nebraska Cornhuskers and Dallas Cowboys football teams, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and playing games with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children Michael (Shelley) of Murrieta, California, and Marc (Michelle) of Plano, TX, brother Albert Lansberry Moore (Alphie) of North Platte, Nebraska, and her two grandchildren Ryan and Jarred. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Pkwy., Plano, Texas 75023 on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10:30am. Sharon will be laid to rest in the columbarium at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society or Susan G Komen for the cure.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff and community of DaySpring Senior living for their loving care and kindness over the last couple of months.
