Annette Wimberley FlowersOctober 10, 1925 -October 25, 2021
We celebrate and cherish the life of our devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Annette Wimberley Flowers who departed this life on October 25, 2021. Born in San Antonio, Texas on October 10, 1925 to Attorney Joseph Wimberley and Bertha Addison, she married William K Flowers Jr., M.D. on September 22, 1947 and was the mother of two sons, William K. Flowers III M.D. and Christopher R. Flowers. She is preceded in death by brothers Joseph Wimberley Jr., John Wimberley and sister Sylvia Smith. Her greatest joy were her beloved Grandchildren Mark Flowers, Zoli Jamal Osaze, Christopher W. Flowers M.D., Dr. Aliya Flowers, Aric Flowers, Amon Flowers and Heta Flowers; Great Grandchildren Gavin Flowers, Christopher W. Flowers II and Carter Flowers; Daughters-In-Law Dr. Jana Flowers, Catkin Flowers and Judy Banks M.D.; Nieces and Nephews Gail Wimberley, Vivian Murdock, Jocelyn Smith, Joni Crawford, Gerald Smith and other wonderful Grandnieces and Nephews. Annette adored her deceased cousins in San Antonio, Elise Moore and Flora Hull and her many devoted friends and Bridge partners. Having earned her master's degree in business at The University of North Texas, Annette felt honored and blessed to serve as a college professor at San Antonio College, Bishop College, Richland College and retired from Brookhaven College. She had a sincere love for teaching and in 1989 was chosen for the Laurel Award from the Association of University Women. In her early years in Dallas, Annette rendered unlimited volunteer service to St. Peter Catholic School, the YMCA, C. V. Roman Medical Society, the Cancer Society and other groups and service organizations, Faith and family were foremost in Annette's life and as a devout cradle Roman Catholic, Annette was a Steward in each Parish she attended. She was a founding member of the Dallas Chapter of Links Inc., a Charter Member of The 13 Hearts Bridge Club, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority at Southern University. Annette was also an avid world traveler, and as a travel agent she enjoyed visiting and guiding tours in all parts of Europe, Asis, Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada, South American, Russia, Guatemala and a host of other countries. She loved gardening, playing bridge and welcoming everyone to her home. Annette will lovingly be remembered by her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren as "Grams"

Alexander "Pete" Welty SchoemannJULY 4, 1934 – DECEMBER 2, 2021
Alexander Welty Schoemann “Pete” was born on July 4, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents Alexander F. and Mary (Welty) Schoemann and his sister Sallie Lukens. Pete passed away on December 2, 2021, at his home in Plano, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 65-years Kathleen (Dunfee), son Alexander (Beth), son Christopher (Kristine), and daughter Susan Daproza (Todd). Pete also had five grandchildren who brought him great joy; Kendall Hebert (Keegan), Alexander Schoemann (Carolyn), Erika Lowman (Jeff), Madeline Schoemann and Jackson Schoemann. Pete also had one greatgrandchild - Marlowe Hebert.
Immediatley following his graduation from Pennsylvania State University and marriage to Kathleen in 1956 the two embarked on a life and career that literally spanned the globe. Pete enlisted in the U.S. Army, graduated from the Army Language School in Monterey, California and was stationed in Frankfort, Germany until 1959. Following their stint in Germany, Pete and Kathleen returned to Philadelphia where they lived until 1972. Pete worked as an accountant/financial manager for Wyeth Laboratories and Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) while living in Philadelphia. In 1972, Pete moved his family to Hacienda Heights, California.
In the fall of 1975, Pete took a position as the Chief Financial Officer with the Lavan Petroleum Company (a joint venture between ARCO and the National Iranian Oil Company) and moved his family to Tehran, Iran where they lived until 1978.
After returning to the United States, Pete accepted another position with ARCO in Oslo, Norway in 1985. Pete and Kathleen settled in Plano, Texas in 1989. The two made Plano their home for the last 33 years.
Upon retiring from ARCO in 1995, Pete embarked on his second “career” which saw him affiliated with many different jobs, volunteer positions, Board memberships and involvement with philanthropic organizations in North Texas. These included a 23-year relationship with Gleneagles Country Club where he was a friend of many members and gave him the opportunity to be around one of his life’s passions – the game of golf. In addition, he maintained a consistent substitute teaching assignment with the Allen ISD that continued well into his ‘80s. That relationship saw him teach classes from kindergarten through high school and gave him the opportunity to work many of Allen’s athletics events.
Pete was an active member of the North Texas Senior Golf Association and served on their Board. He also was very involved with the Penn State Club of North Texas. Lastly, Pete volunteered his time and services with the Plano Conservancy, C.I.T.Y. House , “LIVE! From Plano” and the Forest Creek Estates Homeowners Association. Patricia OplacioMay 18, 1955 - October 16, 2021
Patricia Oplacio passed away at her home in Brooklyn, New York on October 16, 2021. She was born on May 18, 1955, in New York, New York to Bernard & Evelyn Clendenin and was one of ten children. Patricia began Sundays at home with her family worshipping the Lord in song by playing and singing with her favorite gospel records. Patricia met Carlos Oplacio Sr. in grade school. They married on August 29th, 1973, and raised 2 children, a boy, and a girl. When her children were 11 and 12 Patricia desired to seek work outside of the house. She acquired a part time job at Pathmark Supermarket, and later became a career as a full time PIC manager. Patricia was employed with Pathmark for 30 years prior to retiring 4 years ago. In her spare time Patricia enjoyed a good walk or run around the city and successfully completed four New York City marathons. Patricia treasured spending time with her beloved grandchildren, watching big cats, or sipping a glass of sangria whilst viewing one of her favorite movies. Her family paid this tribute to her, ‘Patricia had a smile that could light up the darkest of rooms. She always reminded us to take one day at a time and she will be sorely missed.’ Patricia is survived by her husband Carlos Sr., her son, Carlos Jr. (Crystal); and her daughter, Tiffany (Octavio) her 2 grandchildren, David & Rosario, sister and brothers, many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. An internment will follow at the columbarium at St. Mark
Robert Leon BoyleAUGUST 21, 1931 – NOVEMBER 3, 2021
Robert L. Boyle, “Bob” passed away peacefully with his family at his side on November 3, 2021 at the age of 90. His battle with serious medical issues never altered his sense of humor and ability to bring a smile to those around him.
Bob was a proud army veteran and served his country in both the Korean and Viet Nam wars, achieving numerous awards and medals for his service, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After his retirement, he volunteered his time to the Purple Heart Foundation, an organization that provides services to veterans nationwide. Bob’s love of his country (and his love of OU and Dallas Cowboy football) was only surpassed by his love for his family. “Chief”, as he was affectionately known to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, was always the life of any family gathering with his skilled delivery of stories, jokes and a few bad dance moves. Bob was married to the love of his life, Lynn Boyle, for 67 years. They traveled the globe together in connection with his army service and had three children: Robert, Shawn and Tim. Bob is survived by his wife, Lynn, son Robert Boyle and his wife Julie, daughter Shawn Long and her husband Pat, and son Tim Boyle and his wife Meredyth. He is also survived by grandchildren Dustin Hunt, Travis Hunt, Robert Boyle, Hunter Boyle, Michael Cotton, Alex Woeppel, Missy Brown, Weston Boyle, Camden Boyle and 6 great-grandchildren. A short graveside ceremony will be held on November 19, 2021 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. A celebration of life reception will follow at noon at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 President George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, Tx. 75252. Charles N. “Chuck” LechnerJune 27, 1942- November 9, 2021
Charles N. “Chuck” Lechner, age 79, passed on to his reward November 9, 2021. Chuck was born June 27, 1942 in New York, NY, to Fredrich “Fred” and Lucienne “Lucy” “Grandma” Lechner. Chuck grew up in College Point, NY. After graduating Flushing High School, he entered the Army in 1964 to proudly serve his country during Vietnam and was awarded sharpshooter (Rifle), Good Conduct Medal (1st Award), and National Defense Service Medal. While in the Army and stationed in San Antonio he met his true love, Tamara Jane. Shortly after their marriage, they moved back to New York to begin life together. Their three wonderful children are a true testament to Chuck’s love and commitment. He loved and cared for his family deeply and was fiercely loyal. He was so very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandson. Chuck worked for J.C. Penney for 36 years before retiring in Plano, Texas. After retirement, he volunteered his time to charities: Habitat for Humanity, Plano Balloon Festival and Defender of Freedom where he daily welcomed the troops at the DFW Airport for over 10 years. Chuck took great pride in helping and encouraging people. A man of many talents and hobbies he never had idle hands. He built amplifiers, radios, computers, and the list goes on. He was a wood craftsman-- could build or refurbish anything, even his boat “Rampart”. Also, an avid HAM radio operator since 1973, he selflessly shared his talents with other operators on how to erect large antennas and repeaters. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Charlotte Lechner. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Tamara (Odom) Lechner of Plano, TX; daughter Mara Dubis of Plano, TX; sons Stephen Lechner of McKinney TX; Charles “Carl or Charlie” Lechner and his wife Bridgett of San Antonio, TX; twin brother Fred Lechner of New Milford CT; six grandchildren: Rachel Dubis, Bryce Lechner, Thomas Dubis, Anissa Lechner, Angel Dubis, Brennan Lechner, and great grandchild Oliver Lechner. He left many loved nieces, nephews, and friends, and his loving canine companion Rosie. Gary Lawrence Murray
DECEMBER 2, 1937 – SEPTEMBER 20, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gary Lawrence Murray, on Monday, September 20, 2021, at the age 83. Gary was born in Kingsley, Iowa, to Edwin and Cora (Niehaus) Murray. Upon graduation from high school, Gary entered the Marines in 1957 and was honorably discharged in 1959. While station in Camp Pendleton, California, he met Carol Ballweg, who was on a trip to California from Wisconsin, with friends. She became the love of his life, and after being honorably discharged in 1959, they were married on August 8, 1959, and enjoyed many years of happiness.
Gary and Carol lived in Sioux City, Iowa, before moving to Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Then moving to Northern California where Gary began his career in produce sales. He worked in both Southern and Northern California. He was known throughout the United States and internationally as one of the leaders in importing and exporting produce from other countries from Mexico and South America, in particular asparagus. He had the opportunity to travel to Europe, Asia, Australia, South America and Mexico in his business endeavors. Toward the end of his career, he changed directions orchestrating the building of large new produce warehouse and becoming Warehouse Manager for Valley Produce in Los Angeles, California. He and Carol moved to North Texas upon Gary’s retirement residing in Flower Mound, Texas for the past 18 years.
Gary loved the open road and enjoyed traveling, including 48 of the 50 states, trips to Europe, Japan and Australia. He loved driving throughout the United States with Carol at his side, taking time visiting family, National Parks and wherever the road would lead. Gary enjoyed sports and attended regularly the 49ers games when living in Northern California as well as watching college football and MLB.
Gary enjoyed his projects around the house, cooking, canning and playing games on the computer. Gary was devoted to his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with them especially with his grandchildren and great granddaughters and was proud of them. He was our strength and support through the ups and downs of life. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all and always willing to help others when in need.
Gary is survived by his children, Jerry and his wife Margarita Murray , Ellen Murray, Jana Carter, Robert Murray, his grandchildren, James and fiancé Jaime Tucknies and her children Tyler and Paige, Joshua, Sheila and her husband Manny Valdez, and their daughters Maya and Hannah, and Heather and her husband Jeremy Haimes, and their children Madalyn, Haley, Estella, Alex, and his sibling Dale Murray as well as m any friends. He was preceded in death by Carol, his wife, his parents, Edwin and Cora Murray, his sister-in-law Betty Murray, his brother Jack Murray and his wife Bette Murray and son Clifton Murray.

Richard Lloyd ThompsonJuly 28, 1975 - October 5, 2020
Richard Lloyd Thompson, 45 years old, left this world on Monday, October 5, 2020.
He was born on July 28, 1975 in Caracas, Venezuela, and lived in Plano, Texas until his untimely death last year. Richard came into this life with challenges. He didn’t have the mental capacities like other people, but the one thing he had more than others was an abundance of love. Ricky’s disability never stopped him from exploring or discovering in his own way. His passions were watching Batman movies, learning how to paint from PBS Artist, Bob Ross and finding peace when he visited the beaches of his birthplace, enjoying those trips with his extended family. The laughter he shared with his cousins, the love that he had for his nephew and niece, Johnny and Jessi, making sure no one ever got into an argument, reminding everyone to “wait-a-minute-guys”. And when things didn’t quite go his way, he would bite onto his shirt collar or pull his sleeves up. Richard taught us that life doesn’t have to be too complicated, he taught us patience and most importantly, he showed us his unconditional love and respect for others every single day. Richard lived life on his own terms. He would listen, but he often did what “HE” wanted to do. Even though he was the youngest brother, he always looked out for his older brother Frank, his companion in life and best friend. Both Frank and Richard were like two peas in a pod, like Batman and Superman. He always looked forward to Friday nights because that meant it was Pizza Night with mom and dad, and he loved going to the movies with his oldest brother, Johnny. We’ve learned recently that Richard’s love reached far and wide. We’ve heard from countless of family members, including uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. The three most common things that we’ve read about Richard were that he was an angel on Earth, now he’s one in Heaven, that he had such a innocence to him and that he had the kindest eyes and sweetest smile. We are heart-broken that Richard is no longer with us. How do you prepare for the loss of a child, the loss of a brother, the loss of an uncle, the loss of a friend? You can’t! You have to find the strength within you and help support those loved ones left behind to move forward. Richard, you were loved by many, but especially by your family. Maybe you weren’t given the best hand at life, yet you lived life to the fullest. We will miss you for the rest of our days here on Earth, but we look forward to the day that we can all reunite and see you again. In the meantime, you will live in our hearts and in our memories…ALWAYS. Nancy A. DorieJune 05, 1927 - September 01, 2021
Nancy Anthony Dorie passed away on September 1, 2021, at the age of 94 in Dallas, Texas, where she lived for the majority of her life. She lived a long life full of family, travel, faith, laughing, and joy. She inspired her family with her strong will and determination as she showed them how to have class while not putting up with anyone’s nonsense. More than anything, Nancy was a true character who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Nancy was born the youngest of four daughters to Marc Anthony and Allene Spake Anthony on June 5, 1927 in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in Highland Park with her sisters Millie, Betty, and Mary Lee. They went every summer to Estes Park, Colorado, where they rode horses and chased after the boys. She attended The Hockaday School where she won an award for playing Boogie Woogie on the piano. She carried her love of piano throughout her life. After graduating she went to Austin to attend the University of Texas where she joined the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Nancy later moved back to Dallas where she met and married James Shepherd Grinnan and had three children. She was an active member of Al-Anon and the Dallas Junior League. She was a brilliant bridge player and competitively played against other residents at her nursing home battling them for the pieces of chocolate they received as prizes. She had a great love for tennis and golf which she continued throughout her life. Even in her last few months, Nancy would call her grandchildren up to discuss the latest tennis tournament drama while praising her favorite player Roger Federer. Nancy will be remembered for many things, but sadly her cooking is not one of them. She was known to burn dishes and add mayonnaise where it was not needed like on peanut butter sandwiches. Luckily for everyone, she cooked very infrequently. Though not always edible, her meals will forever bring smiles to her family. Nancy cherished her Catholic upbringing and was a devout and faithful follower of the faith. Throughout her life, she prayed and attended communion. During her final days, her faith carried her throughout and brought her peace. She helped spiritually guide her family as they dealt with difficulties in their own lives by reminding everyone to take life “one day at a time” and to “let it unfold”. Her family is comforted by the fact that she is now with her Lord and savior.
Nancy is survived by her three children Shepherd Grinnan and his wife Debbie of Midland, Texas, Genny Elmore and her husband Gary of Plano, and Kay Crum and her husband David of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren Cody Meeks and his wife Sarah Murrmann of Austin, Texas, Katie Collier and her husband Tate of Frisco, Texas, Lindsay Meeks and her wife Joelle Sedlmeyer of Maplewood, NJ, and Marc Elmore and his wife Natalie of Plano, Texas; and her great-grandchildren Evan, Emerson, Elaine, Phoebe, Amelia, Olive, and Joseph. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, and husbands James Shepherd Grinnan and Jack Dorie. Jacqueline ZinkandNOVEMBER 11, 1935 – AUGUST 27, 2021
Jacqueline, (Jackie), passed away August 27 2021. She was born to Joseph and Amelia Kraus November 11, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her Brother Joseph, Husband Don, Son Michael, Daughter-in-Law Sue, Grandson Matthew, Daughter Chris, Daughter-in-Law Shelly. She was raised in Kirwan Heights, PA, and enjoyed her childhood and her cats. She graduated from Bridgeville, HS in 1953. She was employed in the computer field and worked for American Window Glass Mfg, in Pittsburgh. It was there she met Don Zinkand and married him 61 years ago. The company transferred them to Kingsport, Tennessee where their son, Michael was born. They moved back to Pittsburgh and bought their first house. Daughter Chris was born there. Business opportunities took them to New Jersey, Phoenix AZ, and Dallas, TX. They moved to Plano, TX where Jackie worked at Eljer Corporation. They have resided in Plano for 44 years.
Jackie spent 12 years volunteering at Medical City Hospital in Plano. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sewing, painting, our cats and dogs, singing to the radio in the car, and her hospital volunteering. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 7 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at TED DICKEY FUNERAL HOME, 2128 18th Street, Plano, TX 75074 There will be a Celebration of Jackie's Life at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 2700 W. Ruth JackmanSEPTEMBER 26, 1926 – AUGUST 23, 2021
Beatrice "Ruth" Jackman, 94, of Plano, Texas left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on August 23, 2021. She was born September 26, 1926 in Sutherlin, Virginia to the late Beverly Wade Walton and Beatrice Walke Walton.
Ruth met the love of her life John (Jack) Jackman in Richmond, Virginia, and they were married on November 26, 1955. A loving mother to five sons and one daughter, Ruth was also blessed with 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. They lived in many locations while raising their family and finally Ruth and Jack spent 20 years of retirement at Holly Lake Ranch, Texas.During their years together, Ruth and Jack loved to square dance with the Plano Swinging Stars. They took numerous cruises and loved to travel extensively. Ruth also enjoyed playing a weekly game of bridge. Raising six children, she was always cooking something delicious and could easily extend the meal for drop-in friends. The holidays and family celebrations were important to Ruth and always a wonderful time of being together. While worshipping at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Ruth sat near the front so she could listen to Jack sing in the choir. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband John (Jack) M. Jackman, her sister Nancy E. Walton and brother Julian W. Walton. She is survived by her brother Irvin D. (Ann) Walton of Sutherlin, Virginia; loving sons, daughter and their spouses: Tim and Kass Jackman of Garland, Texas; Denis Jackman of Kalispell, Montana; John and Angela Jackman of Castle Rock, Colorado; Dan and Trina Jackman of Garland, Texas; Jim and Wenjen Jackman of Taipei, Taiwan; Nancy and Rick Kerutis of Plano, Texas; seven grandchildren, Danielle (Jared) Lampe, Sean Jackman, Sara (Danny) Meier, Casey Jackman, Jacki Jackman, Adriana Jackman, Michaela Jackman; 4 great grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua, Jett, and Grant; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Anthony Stuart HarphamJuly 26, 1970 – June 24, 2020
Anthony “Tony” Harpham, 49, of Lake Jackson, Texas, died Wednesday, June 24. Tony was born on July 26, 1970, in Superior, to Mike and Doris Harpham. Tony moved to St. Louis, Mo., his junior year of high school where he graduated from Parkway South High School. He went on to graduate with honors with a degree in chemistry from Benedictine College in 1993. Tony met the love of his life, Jennifer Eifler, while attending Benedictine. Tony went on to attend the University of Oklahoma where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a master’s degree in chemical engineering in May of 1996. Upon graduating he accepted a position with BASF and moved to Lake Jackson, Texas, to begin his career. Tony worked the next 24 years at Nylon Manufacturing in various roles from engineering to production management. Tony was an active member of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Lake Jackson for 24 years. Tony and Jenny were united in marriage on July 3, 1993, in Plano, Texas. Tony was the caring father of seven children. Michael, Timothy, Nicholas, Patrick, Elizabeth, Daniel and Katherine. Tony and Jenny said they wanted a large family. He loved his wife and was a caring and wonderful dad. He was in the stands cheering on his children at their sporting and school events and dance recitals. When his older boys were younger, Tony coached Pee Wee and Little League Baseball and Upward Basketball. Tony was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Chester and Eva Jane Harig; his paternal grandparents, Lucille and George Harpham; and his brother, Michael Scott. David Sean McCrearyJune 10, 1968 - May 2, 2020
David Sean McCreary passed away on May 2, 2020 at the age of 51. He was born in Euclid, Ohio to Joseph and Karen McCreary. David graduated from Plano Senior High School, where he proudly played football under the legendary Coach Tom Kimbrough. After a short stint at Stephen F. Austin State University, he graduated Cum Laude from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in 1990 with a B.A. in Economics. David was proud to have continued his football career as one of the “Dirty Dozen Plus One” who walked on at SMU after they were cleared from Death Penalty sanctions on holding practice. While never actually having the opportunity to play due to injury, David was proud to have been named an Undergrad Assistant to the NFL Hall of Fame Head Coach Forrest Gregg. While at SMU, David authored “Preparing for Life After the Death Penalty” which appeared in Sports Illustrated on October 23rd of 1989. While at SMU, he was also a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. After getting his undergraduate degree, he went on to the University of Texas at Austin School of Law and earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1993. While studying for the Texas State Bar exam, David worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Smith County Texas. After passing the bar exam, David opened his firm, McCreary and Associates. David was always hungry to learn and challenged himself to accomplish more and carried on the law enforcement tradition in the family by becoming a Peace Officer for the city of Wylie Texas. He later served surrounding municipalities with a fondness towards arson investigation. He retired from law enforcement after serving the community of Denton County as a Constable. In 2004, he founded a charity named St. Paul’s World Mission Society, aimed to assist ministries engaged in world missions. The heart of St. Paul’s, as well as part of David’s, lies in Belize. David was a licensed missionary, an ordained pastor and a very active member of the Anglican Church for the last 20+ years. In true David fashion, he challenged his faith repeatedly, and blossomed into a beautiful man of faith knowing that Jesus Christ was and is his Savior. David’s favorite pastime was spearfishing in the coral reefs off of Ambergris Caye, Belize. He loved old country music, Star Trek, and shopping on Amazon, not necessarily in that order. He hated when his German Shepherd, Blitz, had accidents in the house and when he had to cook and clean, not necessarily in that order. More than anything in the whole world, he dearly loved his three children, Reagan Joseph, Mary Catherine and Grace Irene. He was the man to call if family or friends ever had any legal trouble, and he never expected anything in return for his time. He is remembered for the extensive mission work he did at Holy Cross Anglican School in San Pedro, Belize. In addition to his dear children, David is survived by his parents, Joseph and Karen McCreary; sister Michele McCreary; sister Patricia McCreary Gura, niece Meaghan Anne Gura and nephew Brendan Carbury Gura; brother Kevin and Kendra McCreary, nephews Shamus Kelley Tillery McCreary and Declan Joseph Tillery McCreary; brother Peter McCreary, nieces Caitlin Mai McCreary, Ashlyn Jo McCreary and nephews Colin Matthew McCreary and Nolan Michael McCreary; his loving companion and service dog, Blitz Van Zunderland McCreary. Attended Military School in La Paz Bolivia. He was a successful businessman and became involved with politics while living in La Paz, Bolivia.

Johanna Wollmann, age 80, of Plano, Texas, passed away July 25th, 2021. Johanna was born May 29th, 1941, in Bad Tölz, Germany, to Georg and Anna (Schmalhofer) Wimmer. Johanna was the definition of a devoted and loving grandmother who genuinely put everyone she loved before herself in every way. Much of her life proved to be tough, but every time Johanna proved that she was tougher. She was a passionate Elvis fan, friend to every animal, a highly skilled bowler, and loved making a home feel like a home.
Johanna was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She is survived by her sons Michael Wimmer and wife, J’Nell, of Plano, Texas, and Richard Wollmann of The Colony, Texas; grandchildren, Logan Wimmer and partner, Kristen Keiser, Jacob Atchison and wife, Christine, Miles Wimmer, Zachary Wollmann and wife, Victoria, Hayden Wollmann, and Madison Wimmer; great-grandchildren, Lily Wollmann, Avery Kelley, Seguin Wollmann, and another little-one on the way.

It is always difficult to say goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Esperanza Medina Mazutti (Dallas, TX), who passed away on June 28, 2021 at her home in Plano, Texas, surrounded by her family. Esperanza was born in Zumpango, Estado de Mexico and began her adventure of seeing the world as the wife of Fernando Medina, Staff Sergeant in the US Army. Her journey took her to Chinon, France, Tacoma, Washington, Manheim, Germany, San Antonio, Texas, San Clemente, California and finally Plano, Texas.
Esperanza had many terms of endearment including Tia Ancho to her enormous Mazutti family in Mexico and Nona to her grandchildren and family in the United States. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and dedicated much of golden years to travel. She was an exceptional force in the kitchen and held family recipes extremely close to the chest. Her most cherished accomplishments were her four children, all who were incredibly involved in her day to day life. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren. She was extremely proud of their accomplishments and activities and would often be found in the stands or the audience of their latest performance. Esperanza was known for her kind heart, generosity, hugs, and her champion of all people. In her 93 years of life she witnessed many life events and used her time and experience to encourage other to live their best lives. She was a faithful soul who made pilgrimages to her patron saint Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Basilica in Mexico City.
Esperanza is survived by her children Victor Medina (Susan Medina), Catharine Medina, Angela Medina Discher (Bill Discher), grandchildren, Jordana and Bianca Discher, Arman and Breno Medina, and Siena Medina, and many beloved family and friends around the world. Esperanza is preceded in death by her son Fred Anthony Medina and husband Fernando Medina.

June 13, 1962 – March 17, 2021
Passed away on March 17, 2021. Fred was born in Chinon, France on June 13, 1962. Most of his formative years were spent in San Antonio, TX with summers spent in Mexico City with family there. He graduated from Jefferson High School in San Antonio and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
Fred was an accomplished senior executive in media, entertainment, and technology having worked for Coca Cola, Univision, Ericsson, HBO Latin America, A+E Networks Latin America, E! Networks and BBC Latin America. At the time of his death, he was the principal of the media marketing consulting firm Redline Advisors and served the community as a child advocate at the Miami-Dade Guardian ad Litem Program.
He was a kind, thoughtful, and intelligent man who loved his children, mother, family, and friends deeply. Fred was a car enthusiast and was passionate about cycling.
Fred is survived by his sons Arman and Breno Medina, his siblings Victor Medina (Susan Medina), Angela Discher (Bill Discher), Catharine Medina, nieces Jordana and Bianca Discher and Siena Medina, and many beloved family and friends around the world. Fred is preceded in death by his father Fernando Medina.

Cecilia “Cel” Ann Ladda was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 9,1947 to parents Zygmunt Frederick and Stella Cecilia
(Tyskiewicz) Ladda.She graduated from Rock High School and went on to Fontbonne earning her BA in 1971 and a Master’s in Education in 1985 from the University of Illinois. In 1967 Cel entered the community of St. Joseph of Carondolet in St. Louis. She remained a member of this community for 30 years until she was dispensed from vows as a member in good standing. While living in community Cel served in many ways. For nine years she taught children in elementary school. First in St. Paul’s in Negaunee Michigan and later in Most Holy Name of Jesus in St. Louis. Cel was Assistant Executive Director and later the Director of Development at St. Joseph's Carondelet Child Center in Chicago. In 1992 Cel served her community as Provincial Councilor and Regional Superior. Cel was the Executive Director for The Haven of Grace in St. Louis. She was the Executive Director for St. Joseph's Home for Boys in St. Louis. She began her transition to living outside of community in 1996 ultimately moving to Plano Texas. In Plano she ministered with families at St. Mark and later as Director of Adult Faith Formation at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Plano. After retirement she became active in Stephen Ministry and Guardian Angel Ministry at Our Lady of Angels.
Cel's resume is impressive but there is so much more to her life. The legacy of love and caring throughout her career for the marginalized is evident. However, career is only part of Cel's legacy. Those hearts and souls Cel touched through her personal life reflect who Cel was to us. She was a woman deeply rooted in her love of God and her love of God's people - all people. She touched her family, biological and adopted, with joy, humor, and a sense of adventure. She was always ready for the next trip, wherever it took her. Whether it was to Europe or to the local restaurant, she was ready with humor and a zest of life. Think back to one of your experiences with Cel and remember how you felt in her presence. That feeling is her true legacy, left to each of us in her special way. May she forever rest in the arms of God knowing she was a "good and faithful servant."

Richard Douglas Brooke

Richard Douglas Brooke of Plano, TX, age 73, passed from this earth on June 25, 2021.Dick was born in Geneva, NY where he attended St. Stephens School and graduated from de Sales High School, Class of 1966 . He attended Rochester Institute of Technology and then began his career at Xerox. In 1984, Dick moved his family to Plano, TX where he worked for Texas Instruments. Shortly after, his career brought him to SSBA, which became MBNA and then Bank of America. He retired from Bank of America as Senior Vice President Business Executive – Technology in 2015. Dick loved his work, the people who worked for and with him and will be missed by all, especially Lee Kilborn of The Colony.
Dick was a huge sports fan. Baseball and the Texas Rangers came in first in his heart, followed by his beloved New York Giants. Dick loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. He loved family gatherings and was so incredibly proud of them all. His favorite pastime was simply spending time with the love of his life, Betty. From prom to surpassing 50 years, theirs is a love story for the ages.
Dick is lovingly survived by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Weise Brooke of Plano, TX. Also his five children, Richard Brooke Il and wife Holly of Cedar Park, TX, Shannon Norwood and husband David of Frisco ,TX, MaryElizabeth Ennis and husband Dr. Greg Ennis of Frisco, TX, Molly Brooke and wife Kristin Brooke of Garland, TX and Emily Brooke and partner Christine Harris of Plano, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren Dr. Jordan Elliott, Michael Brooke, Elizabeth Ennis, Sean Norwood, Maya Brooke, Riley Brooke, Quinn Brooke, Zachary Ennis, Pierce Brooke and Brogan Brooke. He will be greatly missed by his fur babies, grandpuppies and grandkitties, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Steven "Steve" Dale Thompson, 58, of Parker passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021. He was born on May 19, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to Jimmy Thompson and Peggy Thompson. He was a graduate of Berkner High School, Class of 1981. Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in 1985 from Texas A&M University and his master’s degree in Computer Science in 1991 from the University of Texas at Dallas. He enjoyed his work as a software engineer at various companies in the Dallas area, most recently at L3Harris Technologies.
Steve was kind, humble, faithful, and selfless. He was a wonderful husband and father, who sought every opportunity to help friends and family in any way he could. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family (usually watching movies or soccer), making dad jokes, and trying to fix things using YouTube videos.
Steve is survived by his wife, Laurie Thompson; his kids, Meg Thompson, Katie Thompson, and Joey Thompson; his father, Jimmy Thompson; his mother, Peggy Thompson; his brothers, Richard Thompson and Gary Thompson; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who he cared for very much.

Thomas Michael O’Connor passed away on May 10, 2021 at TX Health Presbyterian Hospital in Allen, TX.
He was born April 17, 1938 in Manhattan, NY to Thomas O’Connor and Adelaide Harris O’Connor. He was the second of seven children. He grew up in the Bronx and looked forward to spending summers in Staten Island at the beach with his extended family. He graduated from St. Simon Stock High School and was offered a full athletic scholarship for basketball and baseball at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL.
While in college, he became a member of the Phi Omega Fraternity and always was the life of the party. Upon graduation he became a Lieutenant Tank Commander in the Army and stationed in Manheim, Germany. It was there where he met Wanda Jean Kelly, a teacher from TX. They married in November 1963 in Germany just prior to returning to NY. Tom had a long, distinguished career in advertising and, after many years on the east coast, the family relocated to the Dallas area.
Throughout his life, Tom maintained a solid network of friends from NY and Spring Hill College. He had a great strength of character that was reinforced by his love of the Lord and dedication to his family and friends.
Tom is preceded in death by Wanda, his wife of 57 years, his sister, Maureen, and brothers Joseph and John. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly, and husband, Drew of Fairview, TX; daughter Carol of Dallas; five grandchildren, Meghan Karras, Amanda Karras, Devon Karras, Drake Burcham and Grant Burcham; brothers Robert, Michael and Daniel; and several nieces and nephews.

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Anthony John Sottile. Anthony was born August 28, 1935, in New York, New York to the union of Joseph Sottile and Mary Newby. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a lithographer for 40 years. Anthony proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 61 years, Janet Schultz Sottile; his parents Joseph and Mary, his brothers Joseph, Edward, Michael, James and his sister Anne Koschak and his infant son, Anthony.
Anthony is survived by his children and their spouses, Marie Walls (David), Lisa Schleicher (Shon), and John Sottile (Kathy). His six grandchildren, David Anthony Walls and wife Megan, Daniel Walls, Meredith Washington, Noah Schleicher, JoJo Sottlie and Toni Sottile. Gerald (Jerry) Gehrlein was born on March 17, 1931 in Buffalo, New York, and was called home to the Lord at the age of 90 on May 15, 2021 in Plano, Texas.
After graduating from high school, Jerry worked for the Rochester Gas & Electric where he met Antonina (Toni); they were married for 60 blessed years before she passed away in 2019. He was a good and faithful husband who loved his wife very much. Jerry was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He then attended college and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering, a field he worked in for his entire career. The family moved from Rochester to the Dallas area in 1975 with his job transfer. During his well-earned retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family, traveling with Toni, playing the organ, volunteering at church, and reading and relaxing in his free time.
Jerry was the beloved son of Frank and Doris, who were waiting for him in Heaven with Toni and his brother, Frank, Jr. He is survived by children, Tom (wife Chusi), Mark (wife Diane), David, and Barbara (husband Richard). He loved his grandchildren, Hayden, Taylor, Matthew (wife Dani), Jonah, and Katherine, so much along with extended family and friends. While he is absent from the body, we are comforted that he is now in the presence of God the Father, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023. Inurnment will follow in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Columbarium.

Dorothy McGuill
December 10, 1935 - May 12, 2021
Dorothy Buccola McGuill was born December 10, 1935 in Dallas, Texas to parents Antonio and Lucia (Cutrera) Buccola.
Dorothy was the youngest of 5 sisters, and the daughter of Italian immigrants. Antonio and Lucia Cutrera Buccola came to the United States through Ellis Island from Palermo and Mezzoinzo, Italy.
She was the first of the girls to be born in a hospital while her older sisters were born on the farm in west Dallas. As a young child, the family moved to old east Dallas. In her early years, Dorothy served as the mascot for the Crozier Tech High School teams alongside her majorette sister, Johnnie. Numerous newspaper stories record her being the first live mascot in Dallas.
In 1942, Dorothy entered first grade at Sacred Heart Catholic School. After grade school she attended Crozier Tech High School in downtown Dallas, riding the city bus to school daily. In high school, she worked at a pharmacy and movie theater. She had a close knit group of friends, “the Italian Club Girls,” who stuck together for decades. She attended North Texas State University and studied to be a lab technician.
Dorothy met Robert Louis McGuill through The Vincentian Club, a singles church club, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in 1958. They married on January 23, 1960 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dallas. Louis’s work with the IRS led them to live in cities all over the country including Salt Lake City, New Orleans, Washington DC, Atlanta, Austin and finally moving to Plano in 1976.
Dorothy devoted her time to raising her sons, David and Steven, while she worked part time as lab technician for an allergy doctor. Once they were older, she worked full time. Following her husband’s passing and her retirement in 2008, she devoted much of her time as a volunteer to St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in the funeral ministry and as a Stephen Minister.
A favorite pastime for Dorothy was planting and tending to the many flowers in her yard. She found soul mates in her daughters-in-law, Linda and Teri, who also have a passion for blooms and digging in the dirt.
Dorothy had several nicknames through her life….Tootsie, Shrimp, Short Stuff, and Dottie. But, her favorite was Nonna, or grandmother in Italian. Grandchildren Leigh Nicole McGuill and Charles Robert McGuill were the lights of her life. She was so proud of the young adults they have grown to be. “Love you to the moon and back” was a frequently heard expression of love between her and her grandkids!
A recent quote from Dorothy taken from her weekly writings: To friends and family, “we have shared so many wonderful times together. I am so very blessed and I love all of you with all my heart!”
Dorothy is survived by her sons David McGuill and his wife Teri and Steve McGuill and his wife Linda; granddaughter Leigh McGuill; grandson Charles McGuill and many loving nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Louis McGuill and sisters Nancy Cutrone, Josephine Weatherford, Johnnie Malouf and Victoria Buccola.
The family will receive friends for an Afternoon of Remembrance Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Allen Family Funeral Options, Plano, Texas. Arlene Frances Bischoff-Clemente

Arlene Frances Bischoff-Clemente, age 66, of Plano, Texas, passed away May 12, 2021, in Dallas. She was a caring wife, mother, sister, and friend.
She was born to Frederick and Frances Bischoff on April 19, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York. She grew up in Oceanside, New York. She fell in love with Vinny Clemente, Sr. and married him on May 13, 1994 in New York.
At age 18 Arlene started working at JCPenney in New York. Her job took her to breath taking places around the world. One place it took her was Texas where she eventually moved to and continued to do what she loved. She worked at JCPenney for 39 years. Over those years she came to know so many people and even found some long-time friends. She retired from JCPenney at an early stage in her life and decided that sitting at home was not what she wanted. Arlene started volunteering at her church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, and loved every minute of it. Over time her roles and responsibilities within the church grew, allowing her to help many people and the parish. She did not do it alone because she always found friends along the way. She had a magnetic personality that stayed with her all her life.
Her husband, Vinny Clemente, Sr., passed on May 12, 2009 and 12 years later, on the same date, Arlene left us. She is now with her husband dancing and smiling.
Arlene is survived by her son, Nicholas Clemente; sister, Elizabeth Montenes and a host of other loving family and friends.

Gilbert Louis Benoit of Plano, Texas passed away on May 12, 2021 at the age of 75. He was born on March 17, 1946 to Numa and Evelyn (Leblanc) Benoit in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Gilbert grew up in Baton Rouge where he graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1964. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1965 and proudly served his country until 1972. Gilbert attended Louisiana State University. He worked in security sales most of his life, working for Defensive Security and Aritech Security for 14 years then for the State of Louisiana helping veterans with benefits.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Benoit of Plano, Texas; children, Dane Benoit and wife, Ashley of Rowlett, Texas and Andrea Benoit and husband, Charles Beasley of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Mason Benoit, Shelby Benoit, and James Heathcock; brother, Larry Benoit and wife, Linda of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; sisters, Sharon Kress and husband, George of Carlisle, Louisiana and Vicki Linthicum and husband, Daryl of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Ronald Joseph SineniNovember 26, 1940 - December 15, 2020
Ron was a graduate of Bradley University and an Air Force veteran. He also owned Tekram of Texas and Triad of Texas Industries in Dallas. Our beloved husband, father, and friend leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Anne, and three children, Ron Sineni Jr., Michelle, and Monique. He is a grandfather to six beautiful children, and a great-grandfather as well. He lived a faithful life to the fullest and will be missed by many.
Ron was a past Grand Knight and fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7850 in Plano. Some of his fondest memories were made as an active member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Men's Club and softball team.

Eileen Marie Monteserin (Wnuk), 90, of Plano Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior peacefully on Tuesday March 16, 2021. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.
Eileen was born on November 14, 1930 to parents Walter and Eugenia (Baron) Wnuk of Lackawanna, New York. Eileen was raised in Lackawanna, New York, graduated from Lackawanna High School, was married in May 1951, raised her family in Blasdell, New York and moved to Plano Texas in 1979.
She was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards with her relatives, sewing, playing bingo and spending time at the local casino. She loved family gatherings, whether it was a simple cookout, holiday celebrations, or watching the big game.
Eileen is survived by 3 sons, Richard (Judith), Ronald and Ben James; daughter, Judith Stevens (Ron); 3 granddaughters, Paige Porter (Austin), Jennifer Escobedo (Andrew) and Michelle Monteserin; 3 step grandchildren, Peter Doheny, Valerie Etterling (Richard) and Andrew Doheny; 3 great-grandsons; 7 step great-grandchildren; sister, Alice (Tootsie) Juda and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eugenia Wnuk; husband, Benigno; son, Robert; 3 brothers, Edward, Stanley and Richard and sister, Blanche.
Eileen will be greatly missed but will live on forever in our hearts and memories.

Manuela Yulo Manalo

Manuela Yulo Manalo passed peacefully and joined our Lord on the evening of March 12, 2021 as she was surrounded by her loving family. Manuela was born January 1, 1941 in Bacolod, Philippines to Jesusa Abeto and Jose Yulo. She was the eighth of eleven children.
After graduating from the Assumption Convent in Makati, Philippines, she married Roberto M. Manalo. Together they enjoyed spending time with their extensive family and traveling around the world before having three wonderful children and settling in Dallas, Texas in the 1970s. Manuela was a devout Catholic, wife, mother, and grandmother, always doting on all the children in the families. She enjoyed attending Mass every day, cooking, gardening, reading, watching the classics and spending time with family and friends.She is survived by her husband, Roberto M. Manalo and three children; Joanna (children Matthew, Melinda, Mary), Leonardo (daughter Meaghan), and Angela (husband Rob, children Isabella and Julian).

Edward Francis Johnson, Jr.September 01, 1931 - February 19, 2021
Edward Francis Johnson Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 19, 2021. Ed was born on September 1,1931 in Chicago, IL to Edward and Eloise Sevy Johnson. He attended South Shore High School in Chicago where he made incredible friendships that lasted his entire lifetime.
He met the love of his life, Bernadette Fallon at Rainbow Beach, on the south side when he was 18. Friends recall that he knew immediately that Bernadette would be the girl he would someday marry. That happy day came four years later, July 31, 1954 at the Our Lady of Victory Chapel at the Naval station in Norfolk, VA. Ed and Bernadette were an amazing couple and soon developed a wonderful family of four children.
During this time, Ed worked two jobs while attending DePaul University, while Bernadette ran the household. After graduating with a degree in accounting, Ed found a job in sales at Paslode Corporation. It soon became clear that sales was a perfect fit for Ed’s engaging personality. He quickly established himself as Paslode’s top producer. Numerous promotions followed which took the young family from their Chicago home to Bloomfield Hills, MI, and then Bay Village, OH.
While Ed loved sales, he soon found that he was equally passionate about teaching salespeople how to approach their profession most effectively. He taught “Techniques of Persuasion” at Northwestern University while still in Chicago. Later, in 1973 when Ed and Bernadette opted for a sunnier climate, the couple decided to move to Dallas where together they established EF Johnson & Associates, a sales training and consulting company. This dynamic new company racked up one Fortune 500 client after another over a span of three decades as well as clients in Canada and Europe. Ed was a phenomenal teacher and his “Neutral Approach” literally changed lives for his client-students.
Ed was also an amazing storyteller. He created characters and storylines that left indelible images that live on in the imaginations of his children and grandchildren. In recent years he became a writer and he put his wonderful stories into print. Ed had incredible unique relationships with his grandchildren. He invested the time to genuinely know and appreciate each of them and remained consistently engaged in their lives. Ed had an amazing ability to connect in a very individual way with everyone he encountered. People felt special after a conversation with Ed Johnson.
Ed was a convert to Catholicism and was truly devoted to his faith. He was an advocate of Catholic education and all four children attended Catholic elementary and high schools. He became active in communities at St. Monica, St. Rita, Ursuline Academy, Jesuit Preparatory School and Cistercian Preparatory School. He was a lector at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and served as President of the North Central Dallas Serra club from 1994-95 and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
In the fall of 2017, Ed and Bernadette moved to The Tradition on Lovers Lane. He loved his new friends there, as well as his special caregivers, Alyce Rouwtt and Erma Darensburg.
Ed was preceded in death by his loving and beautiful wife, Bernadette, his parents, Edward and Eloise Sevy Johnson, his sister, Patricia L.C. Stevenson and his daughter in-law, Cathy Noonan Johnson.
He is survived by his four children: Michelle O'Reilly (John) of Carlsbad, CA; David Johnson (Susan) of Dallas, TX; Renee Rhyner of Dallas, TX and Edward Johnson III of Atlanta, GA and eight grandchildren: Jordan Rhyner of Dallas, TX, Luke Johnson (Tessa) of Los Angeles, CA, Fallon Johnson of Dallas, TX, Abigail Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Caroline Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Edward Johnson IV of Atlanta, GA, Ryan Johnson of Atlanta, GA and Shea O'Reilly of Carlsbad, CA.

Douglas Alan NettAugust 09, 1959 - February 18, 2021
Douglas Alan Nett, age 61, of Plano, Texas was born on August 9th, 1959 in Beaumont, Texas to surviving parents James L. and Shirley J. Nett of Sour Lake, Texas.
Doug loved his family. His grandson, Jeremy Bagwell, was his favorite person, as he often reminded us.
Doug enjoyed school and took part in extracurricular activities such as 4H and band. His love for 4H grew and before long he had many animals in his care. In band, he played the Saxophone and became well-versed with the guitar too. He attended Hardin Jefferson High School and graduated from Pine Tree High School. After high school he attended Kilgore Junior College for one year and graduated at Texas A&M University in 1983.
Soon after, Doug moved to Dallas where he’d meet his wife, Kathleen. They eventually got married in 1987 at All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas. They began their married life in Carrollton, Texas where they settled into their first home together. In 1995, they brought home their only child, Hailey.
With family being in Southeast Texas, there were many road trips to the hunting lease, the lake, and beach where fish frys and guitars around a campfire took place regularly. He also had a passion for homebrew and was a member of the Red River Brewers and North Texas Homebrewers Association. He entered many competitions with his brewing and earned several first place ribbons, along with a Stein. Additionally, he was a member of The Knights of Columbus Council 7850 through his church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
He is survived by daughter Hailey E. Bagwell (her husband Trevor and their son Jeremy). Doug was cherished by his four nieces and nephews, Courtney Schmitt, Jeff Malone, Daniel Malone, and Sarah Malone.
He was preceded in death by wife Kathleen, grandparents George and Lily Nett and Lee and Odile Thibodeaux.
A visitation will be held Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Allen Family Funeral Options.

Daxton Bryan Lester
November 10, 2015 - February 4, 2021
Daxton Bryan Lester of Plano, Texas passed away suddenly on February 4, 2021 at the age of 5. He was born on November 10, 2015 to Rupert Bryan and Kristen Mairi (Sava) Lester, III in Plano, Texas. Daxton was a very sweet and happy boy, whom everybody loved! Daxton loved everyone he met with a smile on his face. He loved LOL, OMG and Lalaloopsy dolls and also loved Mo Willems books (Elephant & Piggie and Pigeon). Riding on planes and looking out the window made him very happy. Daxton’s favorite thing to do was dance, which he seemed to have inherited from his mom.
He is survived by his parents, Bryan and Kristen of Plano, Texas; grandparents, Dede and Larry Sava of Lubbock, Texas; aunt and uncle, Kendra and General Shawn Coco of Belle Chasse, Louisiana; great uncle and aunt, Dennis and Connie Sava of Wills Point, Texas; cousins, Alexandria and Lucia Coco, Dustin, Nick, and Tom Sava; and his godparents, Dawn Williams and Eddie Duran.
Daxton was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bryan and Carlajoe “Gan” Lester.

Bruce Dennis Ott
October 11, 1948 - January 25, 2021
Bruce Dennis Ott, Major, USAF Ret., passed away peacefully January 25, 2021. After sharing a quiet goodbye with his children, the effects of COVID-19 took his life. Bruce was born October 11, 1948 in Rockville Centre, New York to parents Colonel (USA Ret.) Bruce and Marion (Kunzinger) Ott. Bruce was a loving husband, companion, brother, father, and grandfather.
Bruce grew up a military child, and he moved often. He lived in New York, Japan, Maryland, San Francisco, and back to Maryland where he graduated from Robert E. Perry High School in Rockville. His family left Maryland for San Antonio, Texas, and on their way, they dropped Bruce off at his beloved Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Bruce majored in communications and enrolled in the USAF ROTC program. While attending Texas Tech he worked as a photographer for the Lubbock Avalanche Journal, cementing a lifelong love for photography. During a summer off from college, he managed a Howard Johnson’s Restaurant, and he hired a cute girl named Cynde. Soon after he hired her, they began an amazing love story, and they were married in 1968. In 1970, after graduating Texas Tech, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the USAF. He attended Undergraduate Pilot Training at Reese AFB, Texas. After a brief assignment at Mather AFB, CA, he became a T-38 instructor pilot at Williams AFB, Arizona. As an instructor, he made a big impact on his students, and he taught the first class of female pilots in the USAF.
After his active-duty career, Bruce was hired by American Airlines in 1978 and joined the Air Force Reserves. That year he began a journey that would truly inspire his family. His airline career was nothing short of spectacular. He flew the 727, DC-10, MD-11, and 777. While at AA, he made an enormous impact. He became a check-airman, teaching and evaluating the pilots of American Airlines. He also paved the legacy for his son, Dennis, and son-in-law Paul, who both proudly work at American. His love of travel inspired Jennifer, as she worked as a travel agent. He retired from AA in 2011. While he was pursing his career at AA, he continued to serve America as a fighter pilot. As a member of the famed 47th Tactical Fighter Squadron, he flew the A-37 Dragonfly and the A-10 Warthog. His love of The Warthog inspired Dennis to choose a career as an A-10 pilot. His love of flying drove Paul to a career as an Air Force officer and navigator. Lastly, his love of country steered his son Christopher to a career in the Marine Corps. In 1991, he retired from the USAF Reserves.
The real story of Bruce is his love; he shared it most especially with his wife and children. As a husband, he was loving and Cynde was his best friend. He adored her and became her caretaker, as Alzheimer’s took ahold of her. He spent their last moments together showing her an inspiring love until she passed. As a father, he was giving. He took his children on vacations around the world, and spoiled them on his favorite day, Christmas. However, his most impressive role was as a grandfather. He was The World’s Greatest Grandfather, seriously. He was constantly at play with his grandkids, whether in the pool, or dancing, or playing any place they wanted. He was their best friend because he was a kid, too. He loved their accomplishments, attending sports, theater, choir, and anything they asked of him. He and Cynde took them on vacations, where parents were not allowed. They were called “The Big Kids Trip”. As she aged, Cynde was replaced by one of his many best friends, (Gruncle). He and Bruce took eight grandkids on a Caribbean cruise that they will never forget.
Bruce had many other interests, hobbies, and side jobs. He installed landscapes and irrigation with his friend Ray. He built custom homes in DFW, as the owner of Bruce Ott Custom Builders. He owned Evergreen Gardens, a family garden center. He enjoyed travel, skiing, photography, charity work, and his Catholic Faith. Bruce never met a stranger. His larger-than-life personality meant that he did not simply have friends, because everyone was his best friend! If the story of Bruce is love, then we must talk about his loving companion Linda Matthews. As a recent widow and widower, the two of them found love again after their hearts were broken.
Bruce is survived by his loving companion Linda Matthews, children Jennifer Cushman and her husband Paul, Dennis Ott and his wife Shannon, Christopher Ott and his wife Ashley, grandchildren Allison, Andrew, Stewart, Madison, Adella, Lilibeth, Vaughn, Avery and Aiden, and his sister and four brothers. He was preceded in death by his wife Cynthia Jane Ott and his parents Bruce Ott and Marion Ott.
There will be a Vigil Service on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 7:00 pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Pkwy., Plano, Texas 75023. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 10:30 am also at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. There will be a private interment with full military honors at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.

Guests are welcome to attend in-person. However, in order to reduce crowd size, please consider attending either the vigil service or Mass of the Resurrection. February 16, 1923 - January 14, 2021
Nancy F. O’Leary passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2021 at the age of 97. She is now resting in the loving arms of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Nancy was born on February 16, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. She was one of nine children born to Sophie (nee Homantowska) and Gustav Heller. Nancy married the love of her life, Mortimer J. O’Leary Jr. on September 20, 1946. They were married for 56 years until his death in 2002. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A homemaker, she dedicated her life to providing a loving and nurturing home for her family. Her family always came first.
A lifelong Catholic, she was devoted to the Blessed Mother and was an example of Christian living for all who knew her. A first generation American, she loved this country and the freedoms for which it stands. Nancy’s warm and outgoing personality allowed her to make friends easily. She was active for many years in Red Hatters, Newcomers Club, Girl Scouts, Marian Helpers, SAMNA and the Alta Sierra Country Club. Her hobbies included golf, bowling, gardening, and bridge.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy E. Sisler (the late Richard) and Erin M. Nieves (Mark); her grandchildren, Christopher Sisler, Mary Sisler, Amy Sisler Oden, Matthew Nieves, Milo Nieves and Molly Nieves Keliipuleole; her great-grandchildren, Cassidy Sisler, Skyler Sisler, Judd Keliipuleole, Finn Keliipuleole and many nieces and nephews.
Her three infant children, Kathleen, Michael and Mortimer, preceded her in death.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Beaverton, Oregon on February 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
Inurnment will be later this year in Grass Valley, California. -
