Prayers and Squares is a chapter of an international quilt ministry. We are an interfaith outreach ministry that combines the gift of prayer with a handmade quilt.
The purpose of our ministry is to promote prayer through the gift of a quilt.
Our motto:
It’s not about the quilt, but rather the prayers tied into the quilt.
A prayer quilt is the visible & tangible evidence of faith in God.
The prayer ties are the knots that hold our fabric of life together.
Recipients of our quilts include:
UTSW Medical Center
Children’s Craniofacial Organization
Hospice
Nursing homes
VA hospital
Children’s hospital
Individuals encountering a difficult journey in their lives
Birth Choice center
Our ministry also participates in many parish events:
Gala
Women’s Club Art & Craft Bazaar
Men’s Club Casino Night
Fall Fest
Lone Rose Sunday
Christmas Angel tree
Mardi Gras
It is not necessary to know how to quilt as there are many ways you can contribute your time & talent:
Sew prayer ties into a quilt
Help piece together a top
Hand sew a binding
Attach a label
Donate cotton fabric, thread, or batting
Monetary donation
Pray for quilt recipients
